NANAIMO — Everybody out of the pool.
The City of Nanaimo has entered its annual pool closure maintenance season, starting with the shutdown of Beban Park Pool.
The central Nanaimo rec centre, including the facility’s weight room, will be closed for annual maintenance between Sunday, June 23 and Sunday, July 21.
People are advised to use Nanaimo Aquatic Centre (NAC) or take advantage of Westwood Lake, which is staffed with seasonal lifeguards.
Following the re-opening of Beban Park Pool, NAC will be closed for annual upkeep work, as the busy south end facility is scheduled to be closed between Monday, July 22 and Sunday, Aug 18.
Public swimming at Bowen Park’s outdoor Kin Pool takes place on weekdays between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. starting on July 2.
